13 May 1969, is indeed no doubt a turning point for Malaysia then and now.

In the May 10, 1969 general elections, the ruling Alliance coalition (Barisan Nasional) headed by the UMNO suffered a large setback in the polls. The largely Chinese opposition Democratic Action Party and Gerakan gained in the elections, and secured a police permit for a victory parade through a fixed route in Kuala Lumpur.

However, the rowdy procession deviated from its route and headed through the Malay district of Kampung Baru (Near Chow Kit), jeering at the inhabitants. Some participants brandished banners and placards bearing slogans such as "Kuala Lumpur sekarang China punya" (Kuala Lumpur now belongs to the Chinese), "Orang Melayu balik kampong" (Malays go back to the villages), "Melayu sekarang tidak ada kuasa lagi" (Malays now no longer have power), and "Semua Melayu kasi habis" (Finish off all the Malays). Some demonstrators carried brooms, later alleged to symbolise the sweeping out of the Malays from Kuala Lumpur, while others chanted slogans about the "sinking" of the Alliance boat — the coalition's logo.

While the Gerakan party issued an apology the next day, UMNO announced a counter-procession, which would start from the Selangor Chief Minister Harun bin Idris'(the culprit) home in Jalan Raja Muda. Tunku Abdul Rahman would later call the retaliatory parade "inevitable, as otherwise the party members would be demoralised after the show of strength by the Opposition and the insults that had been thrown at them." (Basically, the malays can not tolerate humour!... and they can not be control, not even Tunku Abdul Rahman can control them!.. and by saying those words, Tunku actually indirectly support the riot!)

Shortly before the procession began, the gathering crowd was reportedly informed that Malays on their way to the procession had been attacked by Chinese in Setapak, several miles to the north.(There were no prove of such attack until today!) The angry protestors swiftly wreaked revenge by killing two passing Chinese motorcyclists, and the riot began. During the course of the riots, the loudspeakers of mosques were used to urge the rioters to continue in their actions.(Missuse of religious property and adding to the provocation!..somehow, the malays never got blame for the ever continuing riot they keep exciting!)

The riot ignited the capital Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding state of Selangor, but except for minor disturbances in Melaka the rest of the country stayed calm. A nationwide state of emergency and accompanying curfew were declared on May 16, but the curfew was relaxed in most parts of the country for two hours on May 18 and not enforced even in central Kuala Lumpur within a week.

According to police figures, 196 people died, 149 were wounded. 753 cases of arson were logged and 211 vehicles were destroyed or severely damaged. An estimated 6,000 Kuala Lumpur residents — 90% of them Chinese — were made homeless(basically, the chinese was caught by suprise which clearly shows that the malays started it!!). Various other casualty figures have been given, with one thesis from a UC Berkeley academic putting the total dead at ten times the government figure(the goverment lie about the figure).

Those article above were the edition of Wikipedia and edited by me!

Somehow, after doing much research, the content contradict itself!

According to Wikipedia
Shortly before the procession began, the gathering crowd was reportedly informed that Malays on their way to the procession had been attacked by Chinese in Setapak, several miles to the north. The angry protestors swiftly wreaked revenge by killing two passing Chinese motorcyclists, and the riot began.[Wikipedia, January 2006]

However,
according to http://www.littlespeck.com/ThePast/CPast-My-tunku-030513.htm

"May 13 - Before and After"Excerpts of this book by (the late) Tunku Abdul Rahman, them Prime Minister of malaysia, published in September 1969 May 13, 2003

May 13th
..…A phone call came through at 6.45pm that an ugly incident had taken place along Jalan Raja Muda in which some Chinese were assaulted.
Immediately afterwards Enche Mansor, the Kuala Lumpur Police Traffic Chief, and one or two others, came to see me and said that there had been killing. The city had been placed under immediate curfew as at 7 pm. The Security Forces were out, the army called in.
Naturally I could not sleep that night, my mind upset with the tragedy that had overtaken our peaceful capital and nation. I went out side my balcony outside my room looking down on the city in the valley by night. Flames were burning high in several areas, near Kampong Bharu and to the North.
Kuala Lumpur was a city on fire
and it was a sight that I never thought I would see in my lifetime.
While they were gathered in the compound of Dato Harun's residence news came through suddenly that Chinese had attacked Malays in Setapak, a mile or two to the North, as they were on their way to join the procession starting from Jalan Raja Nuda.
The news created a storm of indignation; hell broke loose. Two Chinese passing by on motor cycles were attacked and killed.
And so the riots of May 13th began, triggering off violence unprecedented in the history of Malaysa.[http://www.littlespeck.com/ThePast/CPast-My-tunku-030513.htm, January 2006]

By comparring these 2 articles,
It cleary show that, Riot by Dato Harun has already began! The city was arson by the Malays and killing of the chinese has already taken place! Therefore, like the "Malays" the Chinese has also taken a "counter riot" as it was inevitable, as otherwise the Chinese would be demoralised after the show of strength by the Malay and the insults(murdering) that had been done to them!

However, as said, no prove of those murder has taken place!

***********************

Witness that shall not be name inform me that, during the gathering in Kampung Bharu, the malays already had weapon in their hand. Even before the riot broke out, there were a sudden increase of Malays in the area. And at a given time, the Malays draw out their knife and started massacaring the Chinese in that Area. If the claim that the Chinese started killing in Setapak started first, why would the Malays be well prepared with Knife and Parang?

Another eye witness added that the Malays was carrying lots of bag at that time. And at the given time, which the witness forgetten, the Malays distributed the weapon and started killing the Chinese.

Witness had it that, Chinese houses were burn, girls were rape! And some were burn alive in their vehicles!

However so, The chinese do retal to the attacks made by the malays. So, that makes eveyone even!

****************************************************************

I strongly suggest the goverment would get an honest and clearer picture on this matter!
Keeping this issue neutral in our text book and history is strongly recomended!
No party should be blame for any reason as each party has already done wrong!
More dasar Malaysia should be conducted!
Take down the Bumi's rights as it is already too one sided!(can anyone tell me what is in it for us for being a Malaysian?)(RM500 a month to non-working graduate Bumi's??)(What about us Chinese??Indian??Lain-lain???)

Somehow, this goverment isnt really going to right way!

Notice how lesser and lesser Chinese are there in the streets?
Foreign investor complain internationally about our racism issue!
Liccense of Chinese company can not be renewed, and to only get it renewed, you have have the right quto of Malays in your company..what the heck is that??
If you are a Bumi's(Malays) you get everything cheaper!
If you are a Bumi, you get into local UNI easier.. Do you think that is why Chinese are lesser as we all seek oversea education?? And because of that, the malays claim that the the chinese are living a luxury life!
Getting paid Rm 500 a month doing nothing if you are a bumi!
What is wrong with this country??

I strongly belive if this persist, our country wont progress and be a competition to bigger power such as China nor US!

Air Asia Snack Attack! ( it will bite you! )

AirAsia is a low-cost airline based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It operates scheduled domestic and international flights and is Asia's leading low fare, no frills airline. It is also the first airline in the region to implement fully ticketless travel and unassigned seats. AirAsia has been expanding rapidly and is very popular among the travelling public thanks to its frequent low fare deals. Its main base is the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Air Asia goes under the motto, "NOW EVERYONE CAN FLY".

Well, so happen Air Asia was my Carrier plane to Macau!

Got up early one day, i did last minute packing(You know..men...).. :)

Rush to KL Central, manage to get into bus(Aero Bus(RM8)-Cheaper by RM1 to SkyBus(RM9))

Got to LCCT, check in and waited for my plane.

Well, once the flight plane was called, i got into my plane.. It was a brand new AirBus320(above)! The flight attendents was hot and pretty. The seat stylish black leather seat with a nice combination of a red seat belt!

But, Sadly, since AirAsia was a budget airliner, the seat was make closer to one another and therefore removing much needed leg space for tall people like me.

Well, as the plane take off, everything was cool, the take off was superb, no ear ache!

Well, thing doesnt really turn out good if you are hungry in AirAsia!

Snack Attack! (AirAsia blood sucking in-flight snacks, refreshment and merchandise services!)

In the Menu, there was a describtion"Snack and shop away with us whilst enjoying your flight. Choose from a range of appetising meals, snacks, and drink from our snack attack range and indulge in some high-attitude shopping at the same time."
At the same time, AirAsia had to announce their no outside food policy. They event added that you can get food from their snack attack service at an affortable price, and so it seem to be..

Here is their signature food, Nasi Lemak!
For those of you who can not read the description propoely,
it says,

Nasi Lemak,Traditional Malaysian favourite. Tender Chicken rendang with fragrant coconut milk and pandan rice. Served warm with accompaniments and Snack Attack's Special sambal sauce. RM7(Note the freakishly small price tag!) Hey... it is also their best seller!

and so, the menu goes on with more eye opener...
Hot Bowl Noodles(RM7) same with nasi lemak!

Cheapest thing, oreo biscuits RM3
Note that, Milo-MiloFuse3in1 is RM4.. And they just add hot water to go with it!

I rather DRINK MY OWN BLOOD!!!

*********************************************************************

So, while on my way back from Macau, i was force to eat their food, Nasi lemak was just moderate. You actually can get a better RM1 nasi lemak on the ground and it is like 100times better. The Nasi Lemak looks nothing like the picture! Every Scope i took, i was thinking about the 7packet of indoe mee i could have eaten for 1 packet of nasi lemak!

Anyway,

(Ground Mineral Water)*bring yourself*-RM0.00(Free)

(Ground Nasi Lemak)*bring yourself*-RM1.00(very cheap)

(Ground Snack)*bring yourself*-RM2.00(very cheap)

Haha.. Basiccally, AirAsia, is a con artist! Eating onboard sometimes would even cost more than your flight ticket. Sometimes i wonder if they want us to pay higher fares, why don’t they just say so. don’t hide them under the facade of “taxes” and “fuel surcharge”, making the passenger believe he is getting a bargain (or free ticket ~ yeah right, airasia), when in fact the revenue is earned thru such devious means. often you may pay more in these surcharges than the actual airfare itself. since the rise in oil prices, airlines have been increasing their fuel surcharges again and again. (now, does this make sense? i thought fuel was the major operating cost for any airline, so why the surcharge? if fuel prices go up, so naturally would fares. but fares stayed low (or hey, free man ~ yeah right, airasia), while fuel surcharges sky-rocketed.

now that oil prices have fallen by some 30%, did the airlines lower or withdraw their fuel surcharge? nope.

well, okay, that’s not entirely true. at least one airline did lower its surcharges (see below). but the amounts are so token (hello, 50 cents?), they are laughable.

i think it is time to expose the airlines for the frauds that they actually are.

CX Fuel Surcharges will be revised as follow for ticket issue/reissue
on/after 01Dec06.

Levels:
I/ FROM USD61.70/HKD481.00 TO USD59.70/HKD466.00
II/ FROM USD15.00/HKD117.00 TO USD14.50/HKD113.00

Below please find the details:
1. The surcharge will be revised for ticket issue/reissue on/after and travel on/after 01Dec06.

2. USD59.70/HKD466.00 or equivalent for CX flight coupons between HKG and South West Pacific, North America,
Europe, Middle East, Africa, South Asian Sub-Continent, between Bangkok and Dubai.

3. USD14.50/HKD113.00 or equivalent for CX flight coupons not mentioned in point 2.

fuel surcharges easily cover a third of the cost of fuel on flights

a calculation from a pilot over at PPRUNE shows that the fuel surcharge currently covers a very large percentage of the cost of fuel on most flights. the calculation is approximately:
a full flight (worst case) has probably 90 tonnes of fuel or 720 barrels. At us$60/barrel, it is about us$43,000.
at a us$56.2 surcharge each for 300 passengers, the total surcharge revenue is about us$17,000.

So it is about 40% or more of the fuel cost.

well...

Now, Everyone can fly and be cheated at the same time!

Orgasmic Satay!

So, about a few days ago, i went to Macau-China. Well, I came across this strange looking satay! No... no... It doesnt look like the satay you get in malaysia(Satay Kajang)... Nope.. it is not food bring burn over fire out of charcoal...

It was deep fried!

There are alot of veriaties to choose from. Price, not that bad too, it ranges from 4yuan till 2yuan( 2-1 ringgit)..about pricy from our local satay, but i tell you, it tasted so good, you can even get an orgasm!

There...

Look at me getting an orgasm in the freezing cold temperature of China!

Merger of International Aid Organisation

Red Crescent

The Red Crescent symbol.During the Russo-Turkish War from 1876 to 1878, the Ottoman Empire used a Red Crescent instead of the Red Cross because its government believed that the cross would alienate its Muslim soldiers. When asked by the ICRC in 1877, Russia committed to fully respect the sanctity of all persons and facilities bearing the Red Crescent symbol, followed by a similar commitment from the Ottoman government to respect the Red Cross. After this de facto assessment of equal validity to both symbols, the ICRC declared in 1878 that it should be possible in principle to adopt an additional official protection symbol for non-Christian countries. The Red Crescent was formally recognized in 1929 when the Geneva Conventions were amended (Article 19). Originally, the Red Crescent was used by Turkey and Egypt. From its official recognition to today, the Red Crescent became the organizational emblem of nearly every national society in countries with majority Muslim populations. The national societies of some countries such as Pakistan (1974), Malaysia (1975), or Bangladesh (1989) have officially changed their name and emblem from the Red Cross to the Red Crescent. The Red Crescent is used by 33 of the 185 recognized societies worldwide.
Red Cross

The Red Cross symbol. The Red Cross on white background was the original protection symbol declared at the 1864 Geneva Convention. It is, in terms of its color, a reversal of the Swiss national flag, a meaning which was adopted to honor Swiss founder Henry Dunant and his home country. The ideas to introduce a uniform and neutral protection symbol as well as its specific design originally came from Dr. Louis Appia and General Henri Dufour, founding members of the International Committee. The Red Cross is defined as a protection symbol in Article 7 of the 1864 Geneva Convention, Chapter VII ("The distinctive emblem") and Article 38 of the 1949 Geneva Convention ("For the Amelioration of the Condition of the Wounded and Sick in Armed Forces in the Field"). There is an unofficial agreement within the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement that the shape of the cross should be a cross composed of five squares. However, regardless of the shape, any Red Cross on white background should be valid and must be recognized as a protection symbol in conflict. Of the 185 national societies which are currently recognized by the ICRC, 151 are using the Red Cross as their official organization emblem. In addition, the Red Cross is currently used by the national society of Tuvalu which has applied for official recognition.
Red Crystal

The third protocol emblem, also known as the Red Crystal.Because of the controversy over Israel's national society Magen David Adom and a number of other disputes, the introduction of an additional neutral protection symbol had been under discussion for a number of years, with the Red Crystal (previously referred to as the Red Lozenge or Red Diamond) being the most popular proposal. Other attempts have included Sri Lanka (1957) and India (1977) who tried to establish a Red Swastika and also efforts by the national societies of Kazakhstan and Eritrea to use a unique combination of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent, similar to the combination of both symbols used by the national society of the Soviet Union until its demise. However, amending the Geneva Conventions to add a new protection symbol requires a diplomatic conference of all 192 signatory states to the Conventions. The Swiss government organized such a conference to take place on December 5-6, 2005, to adopt a third additional protocol to the Geneva Conventions introducing the Red Crystal as an additional symbol with equal status to the Red Cross or Red Crescent. Following an unplanned extension of the conference until December 7, the protocol was adopted after a vote successfully achieved the required two-thirds majority. From the countries which attended the conference, 98 voted in favour and 27 against the protocol, while 10 countries abstained from voting.

In the third Protocol the new symbol is referred to as "the third Protocol emblem".[1] The rules for the use of this symbol, based on the third additional protocol to the Geneva Conventions, are the following:

Within its own national territory, a national society can use either of the recognized symbols alone, or incorporate any of these symbols or a combination of them into the Red Crystal. Furthermore, a national society can choose to display a previously and effectively used symbol, after officially communicating this symbol to the state parties of the Geneva Conventions through Switzerland as the depositary state prior to the adoption of the proposed third additional protocol.
For indicative use on foreign territory, a national society which does not use one of the recognized symbols as its emblem has to incorporate its unique symbol into the Red Crystal, based on the previously mentioned condition about communicating its unique symbol to the state parties of the Geneva Conventions.
For protective use, only the symbols recognized by the Geneva Conventions can be used. Specifically, those national societies which do not use one of the recognized symbols as their emblem have to use the Red Crystal without incorporation of any additional symbol.
On 22 June 2006 the ICRC announced that the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement adopted the Red Crystal as additional emblem for use by the national societies. The ICRC also announced the recognition of the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and the Israeli National Society, Magen David Adom (MDA).[2] On 14 January 2007, the third additional protocol entered into force. Amount of country running under this emblem, unknown!

Red Hwei Ming (Crescent, Crystal and Cross)

A newer version of international rescue aid have come to the earth rescue. It is called Red Hwei Ming. Created just a couple of minute before this post was put up! This new aid is a combination of all the other international aid organization which failed to unite under one emblem and archive the one goal, which is to aid those who are in need of aids. Number of participating countries is, 33(Red Crescent) +151(Red Cross)+Unknown(Red Crystal)=Everyone!

History of RTM (Radio Television Malaysia)

The history of radio in Malaya began in the year 1921 when an electrical engineer from the Johor Government, A.L. Birch, brought the first radio set into the country. He then established the Johore Wireless Association and commenced broadcasting through 300 meter waves. This was then followed by the establishment of the same association in Penang and the Malayan Wireless Association in Kuala Lumpur.

In the year 1930, Sir Earl from the Singapore Port Authority commenced its short wave broadcast every fortnight either on Sundays or Wednesdays. The same effort was emulated by the Malayan Wireless Association, broadcasting from Bukit Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, via 325 meter waves. This was followed by the efforts of Sir Shenton Thomas who opened the Studio of Broadcasting Corporation of Malaya and its transmitter at Caldecott Hill, Singapore, on 11th March 1937. The British Broadcasting Corporation of Malaya was then taken over by the Straits Settlement and became a part of the British Information Ministry better known as the Malayan Broadcasting Corporation.

Following the Japanese invasion and the end of British rule in Singapore in 1942, the Japanese took over and used the existing radio channels in Penang, Malacca, Kuala Lumpur, Seremban and Singapore to transmit Japanese propaganda. However, in the year 1943, the British came back into power and reclaimed the stations.
On 1st April 1946, the Department of Broadcasting was established in Singapore. When emergency, caused by the outbreak of social riots was declared in 1948, it became necessary to further enhance and develop radio services.

In the early 50's, broadcasting activities in Malaya were operated from its temporary studio in Jalan Young (now know as Jalan Cenderasari) in Kuala Lumpur and later in 1956, were moved to the Federal House, Kuala Lumpur. It was here that broadcasting in Malaysia grew with the establishment of several stations throughout the country including Sabah and Sarawak. Commercial advertisements were first aired on radio in 1960. This became a new source of revenue for the Government. An interesting point to note is that 'deejays' began to use the introduction "INILAH RADIO MALAYSIA" (This is Radio Malaysia) to greet listeners at the very first time Malaysia was formed in 16th September 1963.

Broadcasting further carved another milestone when Television services were introduced on 28 December 1963 from its studio, Dewan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Ampang. Broadcast operations then moved office to Angkasapuri Complex which began its telecast on 6th October 1969, Radio and Television were merged under the Ministry of Information. The growth of the first channel, Rangkaian Satu encouraged the second channel to be established on 17th November 1969.

It was in Angkasapuri Complex that rapid development in broadcasting for both radio and television began. Broadcast time was extended to cater to the needs of listeners from all walks of life. National Radio Channel (Rangkaian National) began its round the clock services to cater for night shift workers such as factory operators, wardens, hospital staffs, lorry or bus drivers, pick-up service operators, food courts or caterers and security guards. Today, Malaysians enjoy listening to 6 radio channels 24 hours a day in Malay, English, Mandarin and Tamil while East Malaysians (Sabah and Sarawak) are tuning to radio channels in their respective native languages such as Kadazan, Murut, Dusun, Bajau, English and Mandarin via Blue Channel RTM Kota Kinabalu. Bidayuh, a dialect widely used by Sarawakians, is the main language for Blue Channel RTM Kuching. Iban and Kayan/Kenyah are dialects used in the Green Channel of the station while English and Mandarin are local dialects used for the Red Channel. Except for RTM Limbang, dialects used for the Red Channel. Except for RTM Limbang, dialects used to communicate with the listeners are as mentioned but Bisaya and Murut (Lun Bawang) are also spectacular dialects used in that channel.

Electronic media is the most important source of receiving and disseminating information because it is fast, cheap and direct to or from the clients. Knowing the fact that being laden with too much information creates adverse effects to Radio listeners or TV audience, an alternative of placing information side by side with entertainment is practised. On 20th June 1975, Radio Muzik (Muzik Radio) was launched. As the name implies, the channel allows for total entertainment in the form of songs for listeners of all ages.
Development in television is also very rapid especially in the era of Information Technology (IT). Efforts to air 80 percent local programmes and 20 percent foreign or imported programmes are taken very seriously.

April 1st 1996 marked RTM's 50 years anniversary.RTM has experienced tremendous changes and development in the field of broadcasting. 1998 was another historical year for RTM. World class sporting events were brought to Kuala Lumpur. World standard athletes came from all Commonwealth countries in the world to witness and judge Malaysia's capabilities in broadcasting. The International Broadcasting Centre (IBC) became the centre of broadcasting excellence during the Commonwealth games and RTM is the Host Broadcaster.

TV Malaysia started its early telecast on 1st March 1994 and started transmission as early as 6.00 am. TV1, The Prime Channel introduced "Selamat Pagi Malaysia" (Good Morning Malaysia). TV2, The Golden Channel, later followed by launching "Moving On Two" in December 1996. The commencement of the early morning telecasts also enable news and up-dates to be aired more frequently. RTM's News Centre which is fully computerised with up-to-date editing and post-production facilities was able to provide this service.

What could be more praiseworthy is not only that the number of listeners, viewers and revenues collected from commercial advertisements derived from airing them increasing year by year, but RTM has marked yet another milestone with the introduction of RTM's website at the end of 1995. This service which was launched by the Honourable Prime Minister, Dato' Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamed on 27th December 1995, enables listeners to tune to the TV and Radio stations via the Internet. The Internet does not lessen the role of radio and television. On the contrary, the Net can be used to enhance the functions of radio and televisyen in disseminating information globally.

RTM Cawangan Hwei Ming

Basically, what this history tell us is that, RTM takes a long time to grow! Until now, their channel are flooded with advertisement just to maximize their profit in every pity little seconds we watch it. RTM has no match with HBO or STAR Channel even though RTM is only competing for viewer within Malaysia.

News on RTM is ever more worst! It displays news that are very one sided. Most of the time, you'll see some political leaders walking, shaking hands, and looking shinny due to the camera flash in the news. Sorry RTM, but seriously, i think, you guys should work on your overloaded add problem and boringness in the channel.

I strongly belive, RTM should split it channel into 4 categories, English, Malay, Chinese and Indian, instead of crapming all 4 languages into a channel that is also over crowded with adds.

I always thank god for the creation of Astro and hope for its longevity for many channels to choose from!
