News on the news itself!

Al Jazeera (Arabic: الجزيرة‎ /æl dʒæziːraː/, meaning "The Island"), is a television network headquartered in Doha, Qatar. Al Jazeera initially launched as an Arabic news and current affairs satellite TV channel of the same name, but has since expanded into a network of several specialty TV channels.

The original Al Jazeera channel's willingness to broadcast dissenting views, including on call-in shows, created controversies in autocratic Arab Gulf States. The station gained worldwide attention following the September 11, 2001 attacks, when it broadcast video statements by Osama bin Laden and other al-Qaeda leaders.

Well, ever since Al Jazeera got its cheap publicity from Osama bin Laden, it has been bugging many Astro viewer since it launch its "Al Jazeera English". The phrase" From Doha till Kuala Lumpur and from New York to London, Al Jazeera english will bring you news from all over the glode and see the people's point to view..." it stuck in my head!!

Al Jazeera may seem like a news network that originated from the middle east, but, do you know that, the station top sponsor is the United States itself? In The Star Malaysia, Al Jazeera was reported as a propoganda station for the United States Army to the Iraq citizen to go against their goverment. So, how can we really trust this network?

Well, there is always CNN, but, yet again, CNN belongs to the US. How about BBC?? Well, BBC is a news network belongs to the UK but, then again, UK is an ally of the US.

So, in conclusion, the news we see everyday, can't really be trusted! So, stick to our local RTM once in a while!
